Episode 054: Skating for the Mob

What happens when the world's greatest hockey league locks-out its players, and the season is cancelled? Well, one thing that happens is we see the rise of minor league hockey. And, from one of its leagues, we see the incredible story of the Danbury Trashers of Danbury, Connecticut playing in the United Hockey League (UHL). This brief, but amazing, tale of the "evil empire" of minor league hockey takes us from its early days as nothing more than idea, to the finale where the team is nearly crowned champions in just their second season. However, for all the hockey that was going on, something far more nefarious was afoot that had the United States' top law enforcement agency knocking on the team owners' door.
